A peculiar trend is seen in J N University campus these days. Students are rushing towards the office. Thus, inquiring about the admission. Admission procedure for the next academic year. This university is going to be a hot favourite. Favourite for the students of India. Thus, students prefer this university. Some even approach the office. Office, with recommendation letters of Ministers.
The vice-chancellor is now planning to expand the campus. Hence, increasing the number of departments & colleges. Increasing hostel & messing facilities.
Our team approaches the students. We just try to find out the reason. The reason behind this tendency.
Student 1: I wish to join JNU due to two main reasons. Hostel, Tuition & messing fees are low. Secondly, there will not be any tension in attending classes. Because I know that there are strikes & agitations. Protest over various issues. These go on throughout the year. Hence, there is full-time politics.
Student 2: I wish to build my career as a politician. You know this campus has a free environment. Self-learning is much better. Better than classroom teaching. Therefore, we require little interaction only. Ministers, academicians & industrialists are alumni. Hence, I wish to be a politician.
Student 3: Most of the present leaders were students of this university. It is only through agitations & strike. New leadership emerges. Hence, we may get a chance to become a leader.
In short, they want to join the university because there are groups. Either leftist or rightist. And also maybe hardliner groups. Some people now blame, it is Jihadi Naxalite University. Thus, one may join any group of his choice. Sometimes the professors also get involved. Sometimes, students even bit up professors in group clash. The student thinks. This is only the way to become a politician.
It seems the students seeking admissions have Arts or Commerce background. And, most of them having political backing.
But, one thing is clear, nowadays, JNU is the hot favourite for students.
