The graduate aptitude test in engineering is knocking on the door. In short, it’s known as GATE. IITs & the Indian Institute of Science conduct this examination every year. This time, the organizing institute is the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.

It is an online examination. But you must keep in mind that it is not a direct admission test. But, the score marks in the exam may help. It may help you get admission to good institutions.

There are ample opportunities for those students who have completed or are in the final year of graduation. However, it is a national-level examination.

Students must appear & try to get a good score. Because this will surely lead you towards success. Success in building your career. Hard work & perseverance always helps.

Benefits of the Examination

It serves three purposes.

The PSU companies like ONGC, IOC and BHEL, etc. prefer to recruit candidates with a good score in the GATE examination. These companies recruit junior engineers & technicians every year.

This test is for those who wish to go for higher studies like ME, or M.Tech. & Ph.D. In fact, the scores in the examination will help you. Thus, the score marks on the test may help to get government scholarships.

Sometimes, the central government recruits candidates based on the GATE score.

Who can apply?

All graduates perusing their studies in the final year can apply. Students who have completed BSc, BA, B Com, BE, B Tech, B Pharm, B Arch., can apply. In addition, students who have completed MSc can apply. In addition, those studying in the first year of M Sc can also apply.

Qualification

No minimum percentage requires for the application. Also, there is no age limit.

Mode of Examination

This is an offline examination. Hence, it is going to be held at various centers.

The type of questions asked in the examination is MCQ, MSQ & NAT. That is a multiple-choice, multiple select & numerical ability test.

Fee Structure

Female- Rs 750/, SC/ST/PwD – Rs 750/. Others-Rs-1500.

Registration

Students must apply online through the Gate Online Application Processing System.

The official website is https://gate.iitkgp.ac.in The Registration will start on 30th August 2022.

The closing date of the registration process is 30th September 2022. But students can register up to 7th October with late fees.

The examination will begin on 4th February & will be over by 12th February 2023. (Visit the website for more information)

Admit card download- First week of January 2023

The result- 16th March 2023

Candidates must upload all documents. Documents including Mark sheet of previous semester or degree certificate.

If you get a good score, it will be beneficial for you. But, if you don’t get a good score, you are losing nothing. Hence, students must appear on the test.
