Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore & other IITs in India are pioneer institutes. Thus, they offer quality education to students. These institutes offer postgraduate courses in Science, Engineering, Social Sciences & Management. In addition, there are integrated MSc-PhD Programs in Science and other subjects.

With a JAM score, you can pursue a range of advanced degrees, including:

IISc & IITs are conducting a joint admission test for MSc (JAM) & other postgraduate courses.

Indian Institute of Science, Bombay, is the organising institute for JAM 2026

IISc has declared the examination schedule for the year 2026. It is an online examination conducted every year. (computer-based test)

A student is supposed to choose a paper offered at their graduation level. The questions asked for assessment are all objective & are of the MCQ type.

1. Biotechnology 2. Chemistry 3. Geology 4. Mathematics 5. Physics  6. Economics  7. Mathematical Statistics

Who can apply?

The candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree or are currently studying in the final year of an undergraduate programme are eligible to apply for the JAM 26 examination.

Fees for females/SC/ST/PH are Rs 1000, whereas for all other categories Rs 2000.

Moreover, due to circumstances, if you cannot appear in this exam, you can prepare for the following year. However, the schedule remains more or less the same.
